International Residential Code (IRC) 2021 is the basis for the one- and two-family dwelling building code in Massachusetts, also referred to as the residential building code.

To make the IRC 2015 the Massachusetts State Building Code for one- and two-family dwellings, it must be used with the Massachusetts 780 CMR 10th Edition Residential amendment to the International Residential Code (IRC) 2021.
